Who is it for?: This course is for people that have had very little electrical training and limited use with a multi-meter or test lamp.
Aim: A two day training session that will give the candidates a basic knowledge of vehicle electrics and how to test for basic faults. Candidates will also be more confident using a multi-meter and LED style test lamp.
Objectives: Upon successful completion of all the elements of the training days the candidate will have demonstrated their competence at checking for basic electrical faults.
Content: Training will be mainly class room based using interactive computer software, handouts with presentations and practical circuit building using Locktronic kits.
The course will include the following areas:
- Basic electrical principles
- Curcuits and current flow
- Effective multi-meter use
- Starting systems
- Charging systems
- Batteries
Method of Delivery: Training and assessment.
Assessment: There will be no formal assessment although retained knowledge will be checked throughout the day..
